Stacey watched Marge as she picked up one leaf at a time. At this rate, it would take six months just to get the branches and fronds cleared from the gardens. As soon as she’d calmed down about the loss of her two guests, she’d put the rooms back up for vacancy, and they’d both been booked within an hour.
Foolishness raced through her at her behavior toward Fisher. It certainly wasn’t his fault that her guests had decided to stay at his hotel. But she’d been stunned and angry when she found out, and he was the only one around to take the brunt of her frustration.
